Folate is essential for maintenance of gingival health, and topical application appears to be the key. Swishing around in the mouth before swallowing is the preferred application. Dietary Supplement SPECIAL NOTE: This product has been reformulatred to contain 200 micrograms per drop (the old product contained 50 micrograms per drop). Five drops now provide 1000 micrograms. The bottle has also changed. It is now in a 2 ounce amber glass bottle with a dropper. The amount of folic acid per bottle is the same as the old formula.
