Tocotrienols w/Vit E 75sg by Allergy Research Group are naturally occuring relatives of tocopherols, the many components of the complex commonly known as Vitamin E. Tocotrienols have important roles in the regulation of blood lipid levels, cell mitosis and as water and fat soluble antioxidants. Rice bran oil extracts are especially rich in gamma-tocotrienol. Tocotrienols are members of the vitamin E family (tocopherols), and complement the properties of tocopherols. Together they are thought of as the most important antioxidants in fats, oils, and cell membranes. Tocotrienols are important regulators of blood lipids, being involved in the regulation of total cholesterol as well as LDL cholesterol. The molecular structure of tocotrienols is such that it inhibits the liver enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, the enzyme that is critical to the rate at which cholesterol is synthesized. Rice bran oil extracts are especially rich in gamma-tocotrienol.
