TravaCor contains 5-HTP to support serotonin levels as well as the amino acid theanine, which has been widely studied for its ability to provide a calming effect and prevent the neurotransmitter stimulatory effects induced by caffeine. These studies match observations by NeuroScience Inc. that theanine reduces norepinephrine, epinephrine and PEA activity/turnover and urinary excretion. Taurine is another inhibitory amino acid in the TravaCore formula. Taurine acts by enhancing the effect of GABA. Together these amino acids can quickly reduce high neurotransmitter excretion.

In addition to being used in the Phase 1 of neurotransmitter optimization, TravaCor is also used during Phase 2 and Phase 3 in patients with persistent excitatory activity.

Other ingredients in TravaCor are vitamin and mineral cofactors of the enzymes required for the synthesis of neurotransmitters.
